DREAM Act? For who?

Ahh the DREAM Act. Whose dream? Not mine.

If somebody made me Dictator for a day, this would be my "DREAM Act".

Illegal aliens could become citizens in one way: Serve in the US Military for 6 years and complete it honorably. That is it. You want to benefit from the service of millions before you, then it is time for you to prove that you are loyal to the US. Does it prove conclusively that they are loyal? Nope. But neither does any other method we use.

By requiring military service, they also have access to college while they serve at a reduced out of pocket expense using tuition assistance Want the GI Bill for after you separate? Give us 8 years. Not fair you tell me? So what?! You're here illegally and if you want it bad enough, you should have to work for it. After all, you want to become a citizen of my country. We will make it possible but we won't make it easy. It should cost you. It should require some blood, sweat and tears. After all, our forefathers paid the price of blood, sweat and tears. Why should it cost you any less?

Already serving? Fantastic. Welcome aboard the good ship America. Finish your time, complete the citizen test and then swear your oath. I will be the first one to welcome you to your new home.

And the hits just keep on comin!!

Harry Reid continues his Grey tour. And what is that you ask? Well what he says isn’t technically a lie but it is extremely mis-directive. So it seems he hasn’t learned anything from this last election except his district is full of sheep that will follow the shepherd with the largest horn!

He continues his tirade about the party of “No”. As if they have held up so much legislation that would have changed the political or the economic landscape. If I recall the House of Representatives has been under the control of the Democrat party for a while now and in the Senate they held 59 Seats as of 2008 with 2 Independents helping them along. So what does all that mean? Well 1) it isn’t all Bush’s fault as the Congress that held the paycheck was run by the Democrats, 2) The party of “No” was irrelevant as the Democrats can and did pass whatever they liked without the Republicans and 3) the complete control of Congress and the White House allowed them to spend money like a drunk sailor on a weekend liberty and then turn around and attempt to blame it on the Republicans because they wouldn’t work with the Democrats.

Even if the debt inherited by Obama was all Bush’s fault the fact that it has quadrupled in his term means that he can “blame” 2 TRILLION of it on Bush but not the other 12 Trillion. That was spent under his administration and under his party’s Congress.

Again I ask how is the party of “No” even relevant. What did they do to try and reign in spending? Nothing. Because there was nothing they could do! The President pretended to invite them to the table but it was a dog and pony show for his press release and his fawning media so they wouldn’t lose the tingly feeling in their leg! At no point was he really going to include them.

Harry Reid and his party’s arrogance are what turned the election. It wasn’t the Republicans. The United States as a whole are quickly growing tired of politicians, NOT politics. To our very core, we enjoy a good fight or argument. Heck we were born out of political discourse. But we tire of the Grayson type politicians who show absolutely zero sense of common decency or decorum. We tire of watching groups like N.O.W. endorse politicians who would allow their staffers to call a woman a whore yet claim to be the National Organization for Women! Does anyone else see the hypocrisy?

You see the left has grown a nation of entitlement junkies and they know in order to survive politically they need to enable the addiction. So they pass “health care reform” when under all the pages it is in reality Socialized medicine. And for who? It wasn’t for me. It was for the people who sit at home, collect welfare and refuse to get up off the couch, turn off Oprah and get a job! Want a job or need a paycheck? The military is always hiring! You get training, a job, a paycheck and insurance! It is time to fix the leaky faucet that is Welfare! Two years to collect it and then you are cut off. Why 2 years? Because in 2 years you can get an Associate Degree and get a better job. No money for college? The military will give you the GI Bill IF you can stay out of trouble for 4 years AND you can go while you are on active duty. There are grants and loans galore so don’t tell me you can’t get money for college!

I’ll get off my soapbox now.

What a night!!

Election 2010 is just about over. There are a few recounts that will occur and some are still counting initially but a few things have crossed my mind since.

The people have spoken and done so with quite a loud voice. Rand Paul won his election in Kentucky and had the backing of the Tea Party. Marc Rubio won in Florida and he was endorsed by the Tea Party. The republicans took many seats back they lost in 2006 and 2008 and even got a few new ones. The message to the Democrats was sent and only time will tell if they received and read it. I doubt it. I truly doubt that the Democrats will take their party back from the socialist invaders. This Democrat party isn’t the same party as the late President John F Kennedy.

By the same token, the Republicans must write a few notes and put them on their refrigerator. They need to daily remind themselves why this fight existed to begin with. They took control and went on a spending spree just like the Democrats did and look what happened. They need to remain fiscally conservative and learn to operate within the means of the government as well as shrinking governmental size.

BOTH sides must remember one thing that was clearly evident this election cycle. We voted you in and we can vote you out. The time for political stupidity is long past. They must absolutely listen to their districts and forget their party affiliation. Right? Well not so fast. The party conventions doled out MILLIONS in election dollars to get people elected. To turn their back on their national convention would be suicide. BUT the people voted them in and so it follows that they must be the final voice they hear. Keep the voters engaged. Let them feel as if they can be heard AND listened to and that is a recipe for success next go ‘round.

So where do we go from here? The President now has to honestly learn to work with the other side of the aisle. He was given no choice by the people. They voted many of them, to tell him to knock it off, we don’t like it and we don’t want it. Did he hear them? Who knows? Only he and his inner circle know for sure but the fact still remains that he must work with his “enemies” otherwise he is a do nothing President. It remains to be seen whether our President will offer a hardy congratulatory handshake or just give empty lip service. Regardless of how he proceeds one thing is certain, the offer of bipartisanship must come from him and it must be an honest offer. His next two years will require help from the Republicans otherwise the bog dog has just been politically neutered.

I'm back

It has been a while since I have written anything. Between school and work and two kids, I have been quite busy.

So much has happened on the political landscape where does one begin? It seems as if the people are speaking. Recent polls indicate that control of the House is likely to move to the Republicans and the Senate is likely to remain under control of the Democrats.

So what does all this mean for our illustrious POTUS? It could be viewed as a signal to him that he is moving us just a bit too far off the beaten path of the fringe far left. Or it could be the normal mid term change. Whether the Democrats remain in control of both the House and the Senate or they loose control of one or both, they will continue to blame it all on the previous administration. They complain about the deficit yet refuse to acknowledge the deficit was run up by them! The POTUS blames Bush yet the Congress was controlled by them! They (Congress) write the checks not the POTUS so how is it his fault?!

Since Washington doesn't appear to be listening how do we get their attention? They whine about money, ours and theirs.... course in their eyes that is the same thing. Anyway they complain about the economy and the lack of money coming in by taxes so they talk about raising taxes on those making over $250,000. I've had a few jobs in my day and I don't recall getting one from someone on welfare.

We need to move to the Fairtax! Everyone pays the same percentage.

The best change is to get rid of them all! Vote them all out! Of course they could pass term limits. But that would be asking them to be honorable to the history of our great nation. I doubt they would ever pull themselves off the people's hind tit! Not likely. So they need us to "nudge" them in the right direction. How about we vote EVERY single incumbent, Republican or Democrat, out? Send a clear message to every politician out there.

Political Rant

Dictionary.com defines traitor as “1. a person who betrays another, a cause, or any trust. 2. a person who commits treason by betraying his or her country. “Right now our country is being run by a House of Representatives and a congress that, one could argue, is full of traitors. They were elected to represent the people in their district. NOT their party or their fellow congressman. Yet every day the news shows us and tells us that the exact opposite is true. BOTH parties act in their own political self interest and do whatever it takes to stay in office.

According to the Social Security web site "There will be no increase in Social Security benefits payable in January 2010, nor will there be an increase in SSI payments.” However, they have seen fit to fund electronic medical records to the tune of $24,000,000. In the economic uncertain times we are in, shouldn’t we trust our seasoned citizens with their own money? Wouldn’t that $24,000,000 be better off in the hands of the public?

We elected them to represent us and it seems clear to me that the majority of Americans want them to slow down. Health care didn’t get bloated or distorted overnight and so we shouldn’t try to fix it overnight. I believe that the Republicans have the right idea. Health insurance portability is an idea whose time has come. We should be able to shop nation wide for coverage and get the best price.

I believe trial lawyers have driven up the cost of health care by too many frivolous law suits. I also believe that some people need to be compensated for unfair or downright bad care. Why can’t we have a board of medical practitioners, one from all disciplines, to decide who gets what? A board of Dr’s that decide whether the care was good or bad and then that decision decides how and if the law suit moves forward. Bad care or bad surgery, move along and sue away. Not bad care, just bad luck? Sorry law suit limit of $$250,000. Ok, maybe not a board. Maybe go to a pseudo-trial with a “jury” of Dr’s. The case gets argued on nothing but the fact of did you or did you not get bad care. Did the Dr in question commit malpractice?

I also believe we have people who need health insurance who cannot get it and we need a plan to get them covered. BUT we do not need to add more government bureaucracy to do so. So if you want to create another government agency, then you need to get rid of one that already exists. Or severely trim back a current agency to pay for the new one.

However this health care debate turns out, I am sure that the vast majority of Americans will not like it. Many don’t like it now and it hasn’t even been voted on. Congress needs to listen and if they don’t, we need to vote them out this year! Congress hasn’t been listening for quite a while. IF they won’t listen to our voices, they damn well will listen to our votes. Whether you agree with their political stand /ideology or not, they need term limits and we cannot wait on them to do the right thing and make them happen. We have to give them term limits from the voting booth.

It is past the time to get involved. Read every line of information you can. We don’t rely on one spice in our food so don’t rely on one source for news and information. It is time that the citizens took back our country from the political robots who have hi-jacked it. We need to remind them that they represent us and our wants not theirs. We need to let them know that in the immortal words of Twisted Sister, We’re not gonna take it. No we ain’t gonna take it. We’re not gonna take it, anymore!
